What is PSYPACT?

The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) is an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telehealth and the temporary in-person, face-to-face practice of psychology across state boundaries. In order to practice telehealth in PSYPACT states, psychologists must first be licensed in one of the PSYPACT states. Then, they must apply to the PSYPACT Commission for an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT). Once approved, the psychologist will be given an APIT Mobility Number, and he or she will then be free to offer telehealth to patients residing in any one of the participating PSYPACT states. As of October 2021, 27 states have enacted PSYPACT legislation, and two more have PSYPACT legislation pending. What this means is — more options and flexibility for you. Hurray!
